Relais Christine

History & Location

The charm of a country residence and the grandest international hotel conveniences in the heart of Saint Germain des Pres

Once upon a time, in Paris during the Middle-Age...
The Relais Christine is a 16th century residence that was built on the ruins of Saint Denis College in 1231 by Saint-Louis.

What is today the Musée de cluny was the first "hotel particulier" to stand, like the Relais Christine, between garden and courtyard. This kind of plan was often used during the 17th and 18th centuries in Parisian architecture as witnessed by numerous hotels such as Palais de l'Elysee or Hotel Matignon.

The medieval cellars used to be the kitchen. While having breakfast, you can still admire the old well and the majestic fireplace.

Nowadays, spirit and charm...
The hotel was fully renovated before it was opened to the public in 1979. The decoration was entirely designed by the owner who wants everybody to feel at home when coming to the Relais Christine.
